PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS

SURFACE PREPARATION
A. New Surfaces:
Wood Surfaces:
• All areas to be painted must be dry and free of dirt, dust, grease, oil, and other contaminants.
• For open grain wood, apply DAVIES® 25 Paste Wood Filler using putty knife. Let it dry for 2 hours and sand. Dust off completely, then wipe with a clean rag.

B. Previously Painted Surfaces:
• Do not apply over previously painted, varnished, or enameled surfaces. Painted or lacquered surface should be stripped to bare wood using DAVIES® 300-X Strip-Eze Paint Remover.
• For open grain wood, apply DAVIES® 25 Paste Wood Filler using putty knife. Let dry for 2 hours and sand. Dust off completely, then wipe with a clean rag.
APPLICATION DATA
Application Method : Putty Knife
Thinning : Use AS IS. DO NOT ADD THINNER/REDUCER

Painting System:
Putty: As needed, apply DAVIES® 25 Paste Wood Filler
Woodstain: Apply 1-2 coats of DAVIES® Oil Woodstain
Primer/Sealer: Apply one (1) coat of DAVIES® 701 Hi-Solids Sanding Sealer
Topcoat: Apply 2-3 coats of either DAVIES® 702 Hi-Solids Clear Gloss Lacquer or DAVIES® 703 Hi-Solids Dead Flat Lacquer or DAVIES® 704 Hi-Solids Water White Gloss Lacquer

Recoat Time : 1-2 hours
Drying Time (to Sanding) : 2 hours
Clean-up : DAVIES® 40 Paint Thinner

STORAGE AND HANDLING

• Keep container closed when not in use.
• Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated space.
• Do not transfer contents to other containers for storage.
• In case of spillage absorb with inert materials such as sand.
